The term apocrypha is a transliteration of the greek απόκρυφος (ἀπό κρύπτω = + =to hide), to indicate ”what is hidden”, ”what is kept out (use)”. After the Council of Nicaea which settled the theological foundations of Christianity, by canonizing the books that would become the theoretical basis, the text ”apocryphal” came togetherin all those documents that the Fathers decided to ban, excluding them from publicliturgical reading, because considered heretics and / or collectors of mysterious or esoteric traditions that the Church refused. The artistic research from which thisseries of photographs comes from a reflection on the relationship between theimmanent and the transcendent revisited through the digital manipulation of photography. The image then becomes the instrument to represent visions andinspirations arising from the reading, study and analysis of these texts. The scenariosrecreated raise both in form and content of contemporary issues, most notably the role of temporal power and the influence of religion in Western society.
